No other train journey evokes adventure and romance quite like the legendary Orient Express, a central role in notorious Agatha Christie's novel "Murder on the Orient Express." Some 42 years after the last real Orient Express train steamed through Europe from Paris to Istanbul, French rail operator SNCF has brought it back to life recently. /VCG Photo
After seven years of restoration with precision as well as spending more than 15 million U.S. dollars, SNCF is exhibiting seven carriages of the restored train at Gare de l'Est station in Paris this week. /VCG Photo
Three are dining cars which were used on the actual Orient Express in its heyday while the four others were used on routes operated by the company in the south of France and other European routes. /VCG Photo
According to the company's chief executive Guillaume Pepy, the train may return to Europe's rails again. "We are doing the technical work now and hope we can have a positive decision this summer," said Pepy. /VCG Photo
