China beats US 3-0 in Pool F match at Volleyball Women's World Championship

China's women's volleyball team Wednesday night beat their rival USA 25-17, 26-24 and 25-18 in Pool F at the FIVB World Championship 2018 in Osaka, Japan, taking the win-loss record to 7-1. 
Captain of the team and ace spiker Zhu Ting grabbed 19 points along with opposite spiker Gong Xiangyu's 14 points and guaranteed an overwhelming victory. 
Given a rapid-paced start in the first set, China took an 8-4 lead at first TTO thanks to 2.01-meter middle blocker Yuan Xinyue's fast attack and ace spiker Zhu Ting's counterattacks but was clawed back one point by USA; the Rio Olympic champion ushered a 16-13 set at the second TTO. 
After the break, USA trailed with 15-17 due to China's stagnant service. Nonetheless, China got the offensiveness as spikers' attacking and enlarged to a 23-15 set. 
With an early 24-17 set point, Zhu smashed for 25-17 leading China to a 1-0 game. 
Then came a seesaw second set. Despite China's 8-5 lead at first TTO, USA responded with draws of 9-9, 13-13, and 15-15, and left China one point at the second TTO. 
Later with draws of 17-17, 21-21, 23-23, China took the set point due to Zhu Ting's counterattack then with a response of Lowe's spike and clinched a crushing 26-24 win at their second chance owing to Larson's spike turnover. China took a 2-0 lead over USA into the third set. 
In the third set, fired-up China established an 8-5 lead at the first TTO then with a 16-11 set into the second TTO. Then Ding Xia's service score assisted the team with an eight-point advantage. China seized a 24-18 set point thanks to Gong Xiangyu's spike. With Zhang Changning's counterattack, China won the third set 25-18 for 3-0. 
China will compete Russia on Thursday night.
