Frigid temperatures caused a section of the Wusuli River in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province to enter its freeze-up period on Monday. Because of a sudden temperature drop, a thick layer of ice has formed on top of the river, attracting tourists to the wintry scene. Temperatures in Hulin City have been unseasonably high this winter, delaying the freeze-up period. The water level of the river is also higher than in previous years.
