Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Panama for a state visit, the first of its kind since the two countries established diplomatic relations in June 2017. During the visit, Xi is scheduled to hold talks with his Panamanian counterpart, Juan Carlos Varela, on bilateral relations and major issues of common concern. Panama is the third leg of Xi's ongoing Europe and Latin America tour, with Portugal as the final stop.
