It's finally here – the season when video game companies unveil their latest titles to much anticipation. With this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) starting in a few days, the first US publisher to announce their titles is Electronic Arts (EA).
We take a look at some of the major announcements.

EA's new video game "Anthem" will feature no player-vs-player mode at launch, meaning the game is single-player or co-op for now.
This new information, along with a lot more, was disclosed by the game's executive producer Mark Darrah on Twitter.
"Anthem" has been kept mysterious since it was announced during
last year's E3. As the hype grows more and more massive, EA has decided to reveal more at this year's event.
It is mainly a 1-4 player sci-fi shooting game, featuring realistic and high-quality images.
The players have to choose one of four styles of fighting and support each other to achieve goals in an open battlefield.
The game, to be available for gamers on February 22 next year, shares a lot of similarities with "Destiny 2," another flagship video game published by rival Activision Blizzard.
But it won't have any "lootboxes" for players to buy and gamble, which is common in games published by Activision Blizzard.
The game is being developed by the US studio Bioware.
'Battlefield V': PUBG mode
For the hit war-simulation series "Battlefield," EA has remained quiet so far, but promised to reveal more during Sunday's Microsoft XBOX event.
The most eye-catching info is that the new installation, "Battlefield V," will have a Battle Royale mode like the phenomenal game "PlayerUnknown's Battleground."

Sports, 'Star Wars' and others
EA Sports took the stage for a long time during the event. Soccer game "FIFA 19" was announced while "FIFA 18" is getting a World Cup mode.
Also announced was American football game "Madden 19."
There were also news about the sci-fi classic "Star Wars" series. The company promised to bring one of the most important chapters of the plot "Clone Wars" to the game.
The decades-old "Command and Conquer" series, which is active as a game in the browser now, is getting a new installation on smartphones named "Rivals." Fans can pre-register now on Google Play.
Game announcements getting less attention include "Unravel 2" and "Sea of Solitude."

But "Skate 4," one of the most anticipated games, was omitted during the press conference.
Viewers persisted in asking questions about the game in the comments section, but the company's keeping quiet.
On the technology side, head of the company Andrew Wilson said on stage that EA is developing a video game streaming service. And the planned release is "later this summer."
But he didn't explain how it will be different from rivals' services like NVIDIA Shield.
EA and E3
EA has not participated in E3 for years. Instead it holds its own "Play" event days ahead of E3. But it can't stop mainstream game media from categorizing it into an E3 release.
This year's event was livestreamed on YouTube, drawing about 50,000 viewers at the beginning and gathered 252,000 people at its climax.
