President Xi: Settlement of Palestinian issue conducive to world peace

Chinese President Xi Jinping said Wednesday that a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue is conducive to promoting global peace and stability.
Xi made the remarks as he extended congratulations over UN-organized annual observances of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which falls on Nov. 29 each year.
The Palestinian issue is the root problem of the Middle East issues, Xi said.
Achieving a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue at an early date is in the interest of regional countries and their people, and is conducive to promoting global peace and stability, he said.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Palestine. Xi stressed that as a good friend and partner of the Palestinian people, China is a staunch supporter of Palestinian-Israeli peace process.
China is willing to work with the international community to strive for a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace in the Middle East, Xi noted.
