In June, the Corydalis benecincta is blooming on shale and the limestone of alpine screes at the altitude of 4,300 meters. Before flowering, its round leaves dripped with delicate veins can change color for camouflage. By adjusting color to that of the surrounding rocks, it prevents animals such as the larvae of butterflies from spotting and eating them.

Once it blooms, the pale pink flower lets out strong fragrance, which makes insects easily indulge in its dazzling and bewildering appearance.
