China's female chess player Ju Wenjun has won against Russia's Kateryna Lagno to grab the first title at the E-dream 2019 World Chess Champion Summit on Tuesday.
The three-day event between February 10 and 12 is jointly organized by Chess Management Center under the General Administration of Sport of China, the Chinese Chess Association, and sports channel of the China Media Group.
Ju, 28, holds the women's world chess champion, granted by the international chess organization Federation Internationale Des Echecs (FIDE) or World Chess Federation.
Her opponent Lagno was regarded as a chess prodigy as she earned the Woman Grandmaster title at the age of 12.
In last November, Ju faced Lagno at the Women's World Chess Championship, where Ju beat the 29-year-old Russian in the final.
