China's ride-hailing platform DiDi Chuxing published a statement on security measures on Thursday, pledging to provide the police with any necessary information within 10 minutes.
The security measure came several days after an ad hoc unit was established at the end of September, which assisted the police in an investigation.
In the statement, DiDi Chuxing said that the company will make all efforts to respond to the police, provided that they present their certificate and documents proving their investigations legal. The unit has been on call 24/7 for emergency during China's week-long Golden Week holiday.

To eliminate doubt about the safety of users' personal information, the company also promised to strictly sift through any request for information on its customers, and comply with the related regulations and laws in China.

Since a series of high-profile murders involving DiDi drivers and passengers, the world's online ride-hailing magnate has heightened the security of its service, including taxis.
Passengers can now share their trip with their emergency contact and call police with one click in the “Safety Center” feature, while drivers are required to have verify their identity and answer a series of safety questions before driving on the app. The number of the customer service staff is also said to be three times its original size.
A 20-year-old girl was raped and killed by a DiDi driver on August 24, 2018 after she booked a hitching service home using the app. The incident immediately ignited public fury, as it was the second tragedy involving DiDi in three months, after a young flight attendant was raped and murdered by a DiDi driver. China's transportation authorities have also started their own investigation.
