Bulgarian movie "Aga," directed by Milko Lazarov, on Thursday night won the Heart of Sarajevo for the best film at the 24th Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF).
The film tells a story of an older Inuit couple, Sedna and Nanook, who are the last members of their ethnic group living on the ice following the tradition of their ancestors. The film captures their life passing through phases of melancholy as the husband and wife witness climate changes around them. Their daughter Aga is their only connection to the outside world, whom Nanook attempts to find since Sedna's last wish before death is to see her daughter.
The Heart of Sarajevo for best actor went to Croatian Leon Lucev for his role in "The Load," which tells a story of a truck driver, who is transporting a mysterious load from Kosovo to Belgrade during the NATO bombing of Serbia in 1999.
