The Hongqiao forum has opened on the sidelines of the trade fair in Shanghai. Attending the forum are some of the world's biggest names in business, such as Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Alibaba chairman Jack Ma. Also attending are leaders from international organizations and think tank experts, plus many heavyweights in industry and academia. Their focus in Shanghai is on how to make trade and investment easier. Three parallel sessions opened this afternoon.
