In volleyball, China faced the USA in their final pool 14 match at the Women's Nations League in Jiangmen, south China's Guangdong Province.
China was able to bounce back from a 3-2 defeat against Brazil by downing Russia in straight sets on Wednesday, so Chinese coach Lang Ping was looking for a similar performance against a strong American side before her team makes the trip to Germany next week for their final group campaign.

The US started well and took the first set 25-20, but China fought back to lead 7-6 in the second set when team captain Zhu Ting made two spikes. America's ladies turned it around to lead 24-22 and made the score 2-0 on a block from Carli Lloyd.
The 2014 World Champions came back from 20-15 down and when Gong Xiangyu hit wide, they won the third 25-20 and complete a straight sets victory for their tenth win in a row.
China heads to Germany next week to face Turkey, the Netherlands, as well as the hosts of pool 17 before returning home at the end of June for the finals in Nanjing, east China's Jiangsu Province.
