Former Liverpool, Chelsea and Spain striker Fernando Torres has signed for Japanese side Sagan Tosu.
Torres, who spent the bulk of his career with Atletico across two spells, has also played for Liverpool, Chelsea and AC Milan and won the World Cup and two European Championship titles with Spain.
"It was a decision that was thought about a lot. There were a lot of proposals from all continents. We ruled out Europe because I already had the perfect ending."
"In the end, I took the best decision for us all", the 34-year-old Torres said on Tuesday.
Sagan Tosu have been in Japan's top flight J.League since 2012.
Torres becomes the second high-profile Spaniard to head to Japan in the last few weeks after former Barcelona's Andres Iniesta agreed to join Vissel Kobe in May.
