As the Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets with 115-86 at the Oracle Center on Saturday in Game 6 of the 2017-18 NBA Western Conference Finals, the league is again having Game 7 for the finals of both Conferences after 39 years.
The last time this happened was in the summer of 1979 when the San Antonio Spurs lost to the Washington Bullets in the East and the Seattle Supersonics knocked out the Phoenix Suns in the West. At the end, the Supersonics took vengeance in the Finals against the Bullets with 4-1 and took the NBA Championship.

In the eight Game 7s for defending champion teams in NBA conference finals since 1984, the defending champion have won all of them, according to ESPN Stats & Info. The Warriors was behind the latest scenario of such by defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2016.
Moreover, the Rockets in Game 7 may not have Chris Paul who missed Game 6 because of leg injury. "On the chances of a Chris Paul comeback with right hamstring injury for Game 7, source tells ESPN: 'Less likely than likely, but working every angle to try.'" According to Adrian Wojnarowski.
However, Houston is not sitting duck either. For starters, Game 7 will be at the Toyota Center, home of the Rockets. In the past three home games, they have won two of them. Second, the Warriors may be understaffed in Game 7 considering Andre Iguodala will perhaps not come back.
Even Head Coach Steve Kerr said that they will prepare assuming Iguodala does not return. Houston won Game 4 and Game 5 consecutively when Iguodala was gone because of knee injury in Game 3.

The Celtics have played 31 Game 7s in history with 23 wins and 9 losses. The latest one was the victory against the Milwaukee Bucks on April 29 with 112-96. Furthermore, Game 7 will be happening at the TD Garden in Boston.
Home advantage means so much for the Celtics this season because the team has won all of the 10 home games so far in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers has already announced that the team's No.2 scorer and No.1 rebounder Kevin Love is in concussion protection and will miss Game 7.
But none of this is 100 percent insurance for victory for one reason: LeBron James, who has been called "the Chosen One" for almost 16 years. LeBron has shown the world what dominance means in the 2017-18 NBA Playoffs with 33.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 1 block per game. Besides.
Historically speaking, he has won five Game 7s in a row, including the latest one against the Indiana Pacers on April 29. Interestingly though, the last team that beat LeBron in Game 7 was the Celtics in 2008.
The Cavaliers also has more experience for the NBA Playoffs than the Celtics. Before the series began, a group of data was released on the Internet showing a comparisony. By then, LeBron alone had already played 9,582 minutes in the playoffs, more than that of Boston's 12 players together (8,015 minutes).
