Six killed in S China bar collapse

The steel roof of a bar collapsed in Baise City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, leaving six people dead and over 80 others injured.

Six people were killed and dozens others were injured after the roof of a local bar collapsed at 5:15 p.m. BJT Monday, said the local emergency management office.

One more person trapped at the site was also found dead, confirmed local authorities.

The death toll has climbed to four after one more body was retrieved on Monday night, according to local authorities. 

At least 87 people were injured and three others are still unaccounted for. 

Seven people were detained by police for involvement in the accident.

The investigation is still underway.

Death toll has risen to three as a result of the roof collapse, said local authorities at a media briefing.

As of 12:30, 90 people have been sent to the hospital, three died of injuries. 

There are still four people believed to be under the debris as search work continues.

As of 8:00 this morning, the death toll from Monday's incident has risen to two.

According to the local authority, the deaths occurred among 85 people who were evacuated from the building.

One person remains in critical condition and seven others sustained serious injuries.

Another 62 people with minor injuries are under observation.

Seventy-eight people were affected by the incident. 

One person died of injury at the hospital, 12 are currently receiving treatment, and another 52 who sustained minor injuries are at the hospital under observation.

Up to now, 13 people have been discharged after treatment; the rescue mission is still underway.

A total of 65 people have been evacuated as a rescue team of nearly 260 is trying to save those trapped following a roof collapse in a bar in Baise City in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Monday morning.

The bar is reportedly on the third floor of a building covering an area of 700 square meters. The cause of the collapse remains unclear.
