The Dragon Boat Festival, like most Chinese cultural celebrations, is a day observing a tradition of eating a particular type of food. The specialty for this annual holiday is called ‘zongzi.’ It's a pyramid-shaped glutinous rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo and reed leaves and it has various fillings. Nowadays, zongzi can easily be found in supermarkets. However, some families still retain the tradition of making zongzi during the festive period.
