Englishman David Gilbert reached the semifinals by beating Marco Fu 5-3 in the World Open.
The Hong Kong native who underwent eye surgery earlier this year, did not return to competition until the World Championship in May, and has struggled to find his form in recent matches.
Trailing 3-1, "Cue Man Fu" was unable to drop the red into the corner, handing the table back to Gilbert.

The Derby native responded by blasting a red into the corner and padding his lead to 4-1.
After pulling back the sixth frame, Fu sank the black to close out the seventh, as the 40-year-old trimmed the deficit to 4-3.
Gilbert would botch a gift-wrapped clearance to wrap up the contest, but make amends late in the eighth by rolling the yellow into the corner.
That closed out a 5-3 victory after Fu saved back-to-back match points, and the man called "The Angry Farmer" advanced to the semi-finals.
