The Qinghai International Curling Elite, which was part of the World Curling Tours in China, concluded on Wednesday in Xining City, northwest China's Qinghai Province.
In the men's final, Matt Dunstone led his Canadian Regina curling team to achieve a 5-4 win over their opponents from the Czech Republic. The 23-year-old Canadian and his teammates had a streak of eight wins during previous matches before they entered into the finals.
Russia's Sochi Team lost 4-5  to Scotland's Perth Team in the match for third place.
In the women's final, Daniela Jentsch of Germany's Fuessen Team clinched the championship after her squad had a 6-3 win over Saint-Petersburg Team of Russia.
Canada's Edmonton Team took third place when they beat Swiss Oberwallis 6-4.
On the Chinese side, a total of five teams took part in the competition. A men's team, men's youth team, women's team A and team B, and women's youth team.
Even though all of them failed to enter the quarter-finals, Coach Liu Yin believed the goal of competing was to help young players gain experience through matches so that they could better prepare for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
This was the third time that Qinghai staged the event and the total prize money rose to 30,000 U.S. dollars.
