Chinese racing driver Zhou Guanyu is currently a development driver at the Renault Sports Academy but dreams of winning the Chinese Grand Prix.
The 19-year-old, who races in F2 for UNI-Virtuosi, has spent the last three seasons in European Formula 3, winning twice and finishing eighth in the standings in 2018 while driving for Prema.
The Shanghai native is now training at Renault's base in Enstone, England, and although he has a busy schedule in F2, he still spends a lot of his time in between races at Renault's facilities to work in their race simulator.
“What I am doing with Renault is really helpful for my career,” Zhou said. “It tells me what the situation is like in F1.”
“I hope one day I could win the title in Shanghai; that could be very meaningful. But first I need to be an F1 driver, and before that, I need enough points in F2. There is still a long way to go,” Zhou said.
