State governor, officials dead in helicopter crash in Sudan

A helicopter carrying a government delegation in eastern Sudan crashed on Sunday, killing a state governor and other officials, Xinhua reports.
The helicopter crashed and burned in the morning in the border area between Sudan and Ethiopia.
Gadaref State Governor Merghani Saleh and five other officials were among the victims.
Other officials who survived the crash have been rushed to the hospital.
According to Sudan's state news agency SUNA, a statement will be issued on the incident soon.
