China has been adhering to the fundamental national policy of reform and opening-up, said vice minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen on Thursday.
Wang made the remarks during a press conference about a white paper titled "
China and the World Trade Organization". The document was released by the State Council Information Office Thursday afternoon.
China has fulfilled its commitment on trade in goods and services, and IPR protection and transparency since its accession to the WTO. Besides, China has participated fully in the Doha Round negotiations and also made contribution to the ratification of the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA).
The country has also accepted the Information Technology Agreement (ITA) upon accession, subsequently participated in the negotiations to expand its coverage, according to Wang.
By May 2018, China had signed 16 free trade agreements (FTA) with 24 countries and regions, the official added.
China became a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on Dec. 11, 2001. Click
