Located south of Shanshan County, the Kumtag Desert held a car race from May 2 to 3, with more than 500 off-road vehicle enthusiasts participating in the annual event, open for both processionals and amateurs.

Located in Bohu County, the Bosten Lake is the largest inland freshwater lake in China. It attracts a huge number of migratory birds when the weather starts to get amiable, including swans and egrets.

Korla pears are native to Xinjiang but their popularity spreads across the country. The fruits turn ripe around July and August, and go into many households across the country in September. The time for blossom appreciation is before July.
