Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday emphasized the unique and irreplaceable roles of Hong Kong and Macao in China's reform and opening up over the past 40 years. President Xi made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the two special administrative regions (SARs), who are visiting Beijing to celebrate the 40th anniversary of China's implementation of the reform and opening-up policy.
