Around 30 people sustained injuries on a Turkish Airlines flight after it experienced severe turbulence before safely landing in John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York City on Saturday.
The passengers' injuries were not life-threatening, with most of them described as bumps, cuts and bruises, according to local authorities.
The New York City-bound Turkish Airlines Flight 001 had 326 passengers and 21 crew members on board. The flight encountered the turbulence about 45 minutes before landing at JFK at 5:35 p.m. local time (2235 GMT).
