China is to send its 17th peacekeeping force to Lebanon to replace the 16th later this month.
The 17th peacekeeping force was formed on Monday in a brigade of the 75th Group Army.
The 400-member peacekeeping force is made up of an engineering unit, a construction engineering unit and a medical team selected from the 75th and 74th group armies and a Guilin joint logistics and support center.
During the one-year mission, they will undertake such tasks as mines and explosives clearance, civil engineering and humanitarian assistance.
The peacekeeping force will depart in two groups for Lebanon in mid-to-late May.
