The number of people killed in a fuel pipeline explosion on January 18 in the central state of Hidalgo, Mexico has risen to 109, the Mexican government said Friday.
Forty people remain hospitalized, said Minister of Public Health Jorge Alcocer during a press conference.
The Mexican government said it has not ruled out the possibility of accepting assistance from international experts to help identify victims whose bodies are difficult to be identified.
The massive explosion and ensuing blaze broke out at a pipeline spot in the community of San Primitivo of the municipality of Tlahuelilpan at around 7:00 p.m. local time (0100 GMT) last Friday when hundreds of people gathered around to collect the leaking fuel.
