Scenery you can't miss on new coastal highway in Eastern China

The new Zhejiang Coastal Highway linking Xiangshan to Yueqing County in China's eastern Zhejiang Province connects over 30 counties and villages. The expressway has slashed the travel time between Taizhou and Ningbo from one hour to just 10 minutes and will greatly release the pressure during the Spring Festival rush.

The highway, which winds across Xiangshan Harbor and three bays, is regarded as one of the most beautiful in China.

Xiangshan County

Xiangshan, named after a mountain in the county that's shaped like an elephant, is located in Ningbo City. Made up of 656 islands and reefs, the county is known as a natural oxygen bar. Shipu fishing port is the most famous scenic spot in Xiangshan. Local people have been living here for generations, creating a unique fishing culture and customs.

Sanmen County

People say the seafood in Sanmen County of Taizhou is the freshest in the world. Though locals cook seafood in the simplest way, the flavor is almost beyond description. If you are a seafood lover, a visit to Jiantiao Dock seafood market is highly recommended for the freshest seafood at the cheapest price.

Wenling County

Wenling County is rich in marine resources. The shrimp export business in Wenling is famous in China, thus it is known as the "kingdom of shrimp." Changyu Stone Cave, Fangshan Mountain and Taihu Mountain are some scenic spots that you can't miss.
