China has successfully sent this year's first satellite into space, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). The Zhongxing-2D satellite was sent into space on a Long March-3B carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province at 1:11 a.m. Friday, and has entered the preset orbit. This was the first launch for China and also the first for the launch center in 2019.
