City Football Group (CFG), the owner of reigning Premier League Champions Manchester City, has jointly purchased Sichuan Jiuniu FC of China League Two with UBTECH and China Sports Capital. Sichuan Jiuniu was formed by the 2017 Sichuan National Games Under-20 team and was the first third-tier side in history to reach the quarterfinal stage of the Chinese Football Association Cup 2018. It is the seventh men's soccer team in which CFG has invested.
