After losing their first two opening group games to Sweden, and then Mexico, South Korea salvaged some pride by causing the biggest upset of the tournament as they knocked out defending champions Germany with an emphatic 2-0 victory.
That wasn't enough for a set of fans however, who decided to throw eggs at the team as they arrived back home.

For the most part, the Taeguk Warriors' arrival back at Incheon Airport was fairly pleasant as they were greeted by 500-odd people. After meeting the media and some fans, coach Shin Tae-yong and forward Son Heung-min showed their appreciation for the support.
While the Spurs man was in the middle of his speech to the crowd, objects appeared to be thrown at him and the rest of the side. They turned out to be eggs and pillows. None of this weird combination of flying objects hit anyone.
It was a show of disappointment slightly less heavy than that of four years ago when the side came back from Brazil, and traditional Korean sweets were the objects of choice, which is considered an insult in the country's culture.
