Zhang Wei is a 28-year-old man with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Doctors said he won't live to see his 30th birthday, but his dream is to climb Mount Tai and his caretaker, Ms. Meng, helped him last year to fulfill it. Zhang climbed the mountain on June 16. Ms. Meng encouraged him, and he successfully arrived at the Nantian gate after 12 hours of climbing. His body is getting weaker, but the young man wants to tackle other mountains before reaching his third decade.
