Samsung has once again been put into the "spotlight" after one of its so-called most expensive folding phones - Galaxy Fold, pricing at 2,000 U.S. dollars, reported broken by some industry journalists.
A short video posted by CNBC tech reporter shows that the left side of the inside screen intermittently flashing, and the right side as unresponsive after two-days of regular use.

"Usually an Android phone's display breaks all at once, not in halves. And there's a set of failed pixels right down the middle of the display, right in the fold. It should be pretty clear here that Samsung's Galaxy Fold is experiencing some sort of hardware failure, specific to the display – rather than the software. If it were the software, the entirety of the display would fail at once," a tech reporter wrote in SlashGear.
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman also tweets in his own account complaining his new toy, saying that "the screen is completely broken and unusable just two days in," and trying to find out the reason behind it.

One of the possible explanations he updated on his tweets is the protective layer of the screen, which Samsung stated that it should not be removed.

While the company said in a statement that the main display on the Galaxy Fold features a top protective layer, which is part of the display structure designed to protect the screen from the unintended scratches, removing the layer or adding adhesives to the main display may cause damage.
But according to the reviewers from Verge and CNBC who haven't removed the layer, the problem still failed to work properly.
Response from Samsung only said they will thoroughly inspect these units in person to determine the cause of the matter.
Samsung unveiled its much-anticipated foldable phone in San Francisco in 2018, as an attempt to reverse its steep declines in profit for its mobile division and restore some of the cachets its brand has lost to Apple.
