40,000 Chinese Hibiscus flowers, also termed as Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, are on display and are this year's theme flower. With their showy trumpet-like flowers, they can grow up to four meters tall.
The annual event is organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, aiming to promote horticulture and the awareness of greening among the public. This year, it returns with the theme "When Dreams Blossom."

Simon Liu, chairman of the event's steering committee, noted that the Chinese Hibiscus has rich colors and a strong vitality. "Coming in diverse colors with its hardy characteristic, the exuberant flower is Hong Kong personified – versatile, highly adaptable and committed to building a bright future," said Liu.
This year's exhibition observes the showground scattered with numerous creative floral installations and bonsai works from the other six cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou.

Aside from the eye-catching theme floral wall, a huge parterre in the park's central area is another hit spot at the exhibition, which combines the art of gardening and folk music.
The center of the setting features a circular wishing fountain with flower columns jutting out from it while folk musical instruments are showcased around.
Another installation named "Dream Train" is also popular. The visitors can admire the changing looks of the parterre by day and by night when it is lit up, creating an even more dynamic scene.
