In the Chinese Basketball Association, Jilin beat the Guangzhou Long-Lions 122 to 99 at home. Dominique Jones scored 39 points as the Northeast Tigers won their third straight game, and surged into eighth place in the league standings.
Jilin impose their will early. Jones stumbles but still finds Jiang Yuxing for the lay-up. Jiang inbounds to Cui Jinming for three of his 19 later in the first quarter.
Cui's second triple then puts the Northeast Tigers ahead by 10. Guangzhou try to rally as Kyle Fogg dishes to Shirelijan Muhtar for a three from the corner. But the home side stay in control as Jones finds M-Chay Lampay for two of his 23. The man who won an NBA title with Dallas in 2011 then drills a long three-pointer to end the third quarter, as Jilin extend their advantage to 33.
Bad news for the Northeast Tigers in the fourth, however, as Li An injures his right knee going for a lay-up, and would have to be taken off the floor on a stretcher. But his teammates finish things off, handing the Long-Lions a third consecutive loss, as the win moves them up to eighth in the standings.
In other contests, Brandon Paul scored 29 points, while Wu Qian added 25, as Zhejiang laid the 11th defeat in a row on Nanjing, despite 53 from Joe Young. And Miroslav Raduljica had 19, while Shi Hongfei contributed 15, as Jiangsu extended Beikong's losing streak to 13.
Guangdong are now two games ahead of defending champions Liaoning, after their winning streak ended at 25 on Tuesday at the hands of Shenzhen, who remain third ahead of Guangsha.
