The master plan for the Xiongan New Area, a special economic zone that spans the counties of Xiongxian, Rongcheng and Anxin in north China's Hebei Province, was approved on Friday by the central authorities. The plan marks out the basic steps that need to be taken in establishing the new area. Primarily planned to phase out non-capital functions from capital city of Beijing, it serves as a special economic zone that connects Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province.
