Barcelona fought off interest from Manchester United and Juventus, agreeing to a five-year contract extension with Jordi Alba that includes a staggering buyout clause of 568 million U.S. dollars.
The Spanish giants confirmed in a statement that the official signing of the new contract will be held "over the course of the next few days".
The new contract runs until June 30, 2024 and ensures that the left-back could remain at the Catalan club until he is 35.

The 29-year-old Alba has been one of Barcelona's most consistent players since he joined from Valencia in 2012. The Spanish international has won a total of 14 titles with Barca, having scored 14 goals in 282 games.
As one of the best left-backs in the world, Alba also enjoyed a connection with Lionel Messi. He has set up 20 goals for the Argentine superstar since they started playing together.
