As the 4th Industrial Revolution is coming, a young Russian entrepreneur is able to expand business with the help of BRICS.
Anna Nesterova, chairwoman of the digital platform GlobalRus Trade, started her first investment company when she was just 22 years old. But 10 years later, she decided to turn to another direction, setting up a digital platform that connects buyers and sellers around the world.
“If you don’t have a website, nobody knows about you, so you will sell your goods only in the next region in Russia, or maybe in Belarus or Kazakhstan,” Nesterova said.
Now, the platform has around 2,000 companies registered from 55 countries across the world, dealing approximately 10,000 goods.
“I looked around, and I understood that the 4th Industrial Revolution is coming. So we do everything on the Internet,” Nesterova stressed, adding that about 30 percent of the volume comes from BRICS countries.
Still, Nesterova works as head of the working group on Agriculture of the BRICS Business Council. She pointed out that as BRICS countries have a significant impact on the global market for agricultural products, they should have closer cooperation in this sector.
