April 23 marks World Book Day, an annual event designated by UNESCO to promote reading, publishing and copyright. This year, anchors from the China Media Group will take you on a journey through the exquisite works of Shakespeare to explore the beauty of literature and language.
In episode 12, Lin Xi brings another version of “Sonnet 18,” one of Shakespeare’s best-known sonnets. It is also part of the Fair Youth sequence. The first line is probably among the most quoted by Shakespeare, which reads “Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?”
Lin Xi is a China Media Group news anchor, and she hosts several news program including “News Digest.”
