Brazil formally withdraws from the Union of South American Nations, or UNASUR, Foreign Ministry said in a statement on April 15.
Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay and Peru suspended their participation in the group in April last year for the crisis in this bloc, the statement said, adding that the situation has not changed.
The UNASUR was created 10 years ago by late Venezuelan socialist leader Hugo Chavez to counteract the influence of the United States and promote development projects in the region.
