China firmly opposes the United States' arms sales to Taiwan under any excuse, said An Fengshan, spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, on Sept. 26. The US State Department approved the sale of spare parts for F-16 fighter planes and other military aircraft worth up to 330 million US dollars to Taiwan on Sept. 25.
