Jimmer Fredette scored 43 points to help Shanghai Sharks beat Guangdong Southern Tigers 110-104 and end the CBA leaders' 11-game winning streak in their first game since the Chinese New Year break.
Midway through the first quarter, Fredette made it 16-10 for Shanghai before going off the court to take a break. Guangdong soon took the lead and Zhou Peng put them ahead by two entering the second quarter 27-25.
Three and a half minutes into the second quarter, Zhou carried it up the court and fed Yi Jianlian, who made it 37-29 for Southern Tigers to lead.
Shanghai got back in the game as Fredette assisted Zhang Zhaoxu for an alley-oop, before sending it up to a cherry-picking Luis Scola, as Guangdong led 41-39. Fredette scored 18 points in the third period alone to tie it up at 66.
