The world is at the heart of a crisis in international affairs. Dialogues and understandings have become difficult to reach between states, state leaders, and individuals, even at the United Nations.
The crisis is so huge that the US is poised to go back to a unipolar world and to upholding unilateralism, with US President Donald Trump waging a trade war and his willingness to stop multilateralism by scrapping agreements on the Iran deal, climate change, and the TPP.

This tendency is, of course, creating a lot of imbalance and uncertainty around the world. Given that the privilege of the US dollar and the US's extraterritorial interests are being applied all over the international scene, it is difficult for the emerging world to take their destiny into their own hands.
In this context, a dialogue is more important than ever. And a strong effort is needed for new diplomacy projects like the Belt and Road Initiative that China has pushed forward. Stronger cooperation with Africa is also needed, as the continent will see a population of 2.5 billion by 2050. The evolution of its demography and environmental issues shows how much strong multilateralism and the UN's new governance are needed.
By all means, people can engage in dialogue, discuss, and imagine new ways of fostering more multilateralism. The world is in dire need of new truth, new ideas, and new imagination.
