President Xi Jinping has met with his Latvian counterpart, who is paying a working visit to China. During the meeting, President Xi said China is willing to deepen cooperation with Latvia on the basis of equality and mutual respect. The Latvian president said he saw great potential of cooperation between the two countries. He spoke highly of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, and he also said a strong cooperation mechanism between China and Eastern Europe was vital for his country.
