Xi, Tupou VI exchange congratulatory messages on anniversary of China-Tonga ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday sent a congratulatory message to Tonga's King Tupou VI on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of China-Tonga diplomatic ties.
China and Tonga have continued to develop bilateral ties, pragmatic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges over the past 20 years, said Xi, hailing the outcomes made during Tupou VI's visit to China in March.
Xi said China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields and push China-Tonga diplomatic relations to a new level to better benefit the two peoples.
In his congratulatory message, Tupou VI said that the two countries have seen closer high-level exchanges, deepened cooperation as well as enhanced mutual understanding and friendship.
