Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the World Cup with his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa in Moscow. The Portuguese president jokingly said to Putin, "We certainly have Cristiano Ronaldo", but "whatever the outcome of that match [between Portugal and Russia], if it happens, I hope this will not affect our diplomatic relations.”
