Xi: 2022 Beijing Winter Games will be green, inclusive, open
China is working towards a green, inclusive and open 2022 Winter Olympics, said Chinese President Xi Jinping while meeting with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Thursday.
President Xi said China has given a lot of attention to the Beijing Winter Olympics, and all preparations are in order and are being undertaken. He also said that the Beijing Winter Olympics is expected to bring China more opportunities in sports cooperation with the international community. He added that sports have gradually become part of the exchanges between China and other Belt and Road countries.
Bach praised China's progress in its preparations for the 2022 Games. He said he believes that the preparation and hosting of the Beijing Winter Olympics will promote the popularization of winter sports in China and the world. He also expressed his satisfaction in the mutual trust and cooperation between the Beijing Organizing Committee and the IOC.
