China and Thailand share a kinship-like friendship, as they are good neighbors and partners, China's top political adviser Wang Yang said on Friday.

Wang, also chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks while meeting with Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, president of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand (NLAT).

China appreciates the positive role played by Thailand in promoting the development of China-ASEAN relations, said Wang.

He said China will continue to strengthen exchanges at all levels with the Thai side, seek synergy between the two countries' development strategies, further pragmatic cooperation in such fields as the Belt and Road Initiative, and enhance people-to-people exchanges.

The two leaders also agree to promote exchanges between the CPPCC and the NLAT.
