President Xi Jinping gives opening remarks at SCO member states meeting

Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered an opening speech at the annual conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao on Sunday.
Xi specifically welcomed India and Pakistan for their joining as new full members to the organization.
Leaders are expected to exchange views on the development and prospects of the SCO, cooperation in various fields, and major international and regional issues during the meeting.
Earlier, Xi welcomed the leaders of the SCO member states attending the small-scale meeting and jointly took a family photo.
The SCO has eight member states, namely India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
