Once the upcoming Asian Games wrap up in Indonesia, the continent's focus will turn to the 2022 edition in China.
The organizers in the host city offered a preview by launching the official emblem for the competition at the headquarters of the Hangzhou Culture, Radio, and Television Group, on Monday.
The 3D design, known as “Surging Tides,” consists of six elements: a Chinese fan, the Qiantang River, a tidal bore, a running track, an Internet icon, and the glowing red sun from the Olympic Council of Asia's logo.

The aquatic displays hold court in the center of the visual, with water and mountains showing off the natural specialties of Hangzhou, while also paying homage to the brave spirit embodied by the people of Zhejiang provincial capital, in east China.
The Organizing Committee launched a global call to design the emblem in January, and received more than 4,200 proposals from China as well as other countries and regions around the world.
