30 miners killed in landslide as typhoon Mangkhut rips through Philippines

At least 30 miners were killed and 13 more are missing after a landslide occurred in the northern part of the Philippines as typhoon Mangkhut hit the area, a military official said.
The official said a total of 43 miners were trapped when typhoon Mangkhut smashed into the country early on Saturday. 
Rescuers are searching for the missing miners who are trapped inside a tunnel in Itogon, a town in Benguet Province.
The overall death toll in the wake of Mangkhut which swept through the northern end of Philippine Luzon Island has now climbed to 59.
The typhoon triggered 81 landslides and 13 flooding incidents in one area alone, a government disaster agency said.
